Oogie Boogie is a silkie rooster who was found abandoned in a park with his two buddies, Jack and Sally (muscovy ducks). The trio was rescued by Susie from Susie's Duck Sanctuary and through our partnership they came to live at the sanctuary.
Silkie roosters cannot live in the wild and are unable to fly like the wild roosters. They are vulnerable to predators and do not survive on their own. They really need to be under the loving care of a hooman.
Oogie Boogie is up for adoption--even though we all adore him and are obsessed with him! We know he will be a perfect companion animal for his future 'ohana and so if we can find him a safe and loving home, we will, and use his space to adopt an animal who would have a more difficult time being adopted out.
At Aloha Animal Sanctuary, we run completely off volunteers and donations like yours. There are no paid positions here. All donations go towards caring for the animals.
