About the Event
Last minute, we need help! We need to move some of our fencing in preparation for our tree project. The sanctuary has diseased and invasive java plum trees which we are going to be removing at the end of this month. There is fencing near the trees which must be moved before the arborists can come in and do their job. We will be removing this fencing
We will also be moving our toolshed, and possibly our two bird kennels as we prepare. We need all hands on deck! There will be limited tasks for younger children to participate in; they can help carry and move things out of the tool shed, but otherwise, the tasks for this day will be a bit labor-intensive and better suited for older kids and adults. We will have future volunteer days oriented towards children.
Please be certain to arrive promptly at 9:00 AM so we can go over safety together. Wear closed-toe shoes, and bring a hat/sunglasses for sun protection. Bring a raincoat as well, plenty of drinking water, and plant-based snacks. If you have work gloves, bring them, but otherwise we have some at the sanctuary.
Mahalo, and see you there!
