Kailani and Pono have a special bond, the two can often be found side-by-side roaming the Sanctuary grounds together.
One evening, Pono brought Kailani, who was a stray, along for dinner. She was skittish, thin, and clearly in need of food and care. Soon after, we discovered that she was caring for a litter of newborn kittens.
We were able to get Kailani and her kittens spayed, neutered, and vaccinated. All of her kittens found loving forever homes, and Kailani was welcomed as an official resident of the Sanctuary. Though she can still be a little shy, Kailani has been coming out of her shell more and more each day.
We’re so grateful for the special bond she shares with Pono, and even more grateful that Kailani found her forever home here at the Sanctuary, where she is safe, loved, and free to thrive.
